Alexander Rios

Senior Software Engineer at Research Innovations

Alexander Rios has over 25 years of work experience in software engineering. Alexander began their career at Ascom Timeplex in 1993, where they worked as an Engineer I, focusing on hardware and EMI troubleshooting. In 1995, they joined NCR as a Software Engineer A4, developing Java/Swing applets for displaying and analyzing phone bills. Alexander also worked on C++ ActiveX components for call center applications.

In 1999, Rios moved to ION Networks as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented secure network management products. Alexander was involved in the development of real-time embedded servers and remote network monitoring via SNMP.

From 2001 to 2008, Rios worked at Avaya Inc as a Software Development Engineer III. Alexander contributed to the implementation of a networked redundancy extension for a SIP Enabled Server data replication and synchronization service. Alexander also participated in the design and development of Avaya's Branch Gateway's Gateway.

From 2008 to 2016, Rios worked at Future Skies as a Software Engineer IV. Alexander led a team and developed the COEv3 C2I Ultra Light Test Harness, which focused on message routing, throughput rates, and routing correctness.

Since 2016, Rios has been a Senior Software Engineer at Research Innovations Incorporated. Alexander has been involved in various projects, including the development and enhancement of software suites for Android and Java applications. Alexander has also worked on route planning features and the design and development of a pluggable distributed bi-directional data model synchronization solution.

Throughout their career, Rios has demonstrated expertise in Java, Swing, C++, and various network protocols. Alexander has experience with Agile methodologies and has been involved in bug fixing, refactoring, testing, and documentation tasks.

Alexander Rios attended Stevens Institute of Technology from 1988 to 1993, earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree. Their major was Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Computer Engineering.
