Rick Williams

Principal Investigator & Senior Research Statistician at Research Triangle Institute

Rick Williams has a diverse work experience in the field of research and statistics. Rick worked at RTI International as the Global Head of Statistics, Surveys, and Data Management from 2000 to 2003. Rick was responsible for all aspects of statistical analysis, data collection, and data management. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal Investigator and Senior Research Statistician, leading large medical and public health research efforts. Rick also worked as a Senior Program Manager at RTI International from 1996 to 1999, where they designed and conducted complex statistical research studies. Before joining RTI International, Rick was a Program Manager at Battelle - Centers for Public Health Research and Evaluation, where they established and led the statistical division of the research unit. Rick also gained experience as a Fellow at the Statistical Survey Institute, where they developed optimal sample design options for longitudinal panel surveys.

Rick Williams earned a PhD in Biostatistics & Epidemiology from UNC Chapel Hill, NC between 1980 and 1988. Rick also holds a master's degree in Statistics from Iowa State University, and a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, magna cum laude, from Arizona State University.
