Joe Markel is a seasoned Senior Firmware Engineer with extensive experience in firmware and embedded software applications, particularly in home automation and smart home devices at Resideo since January 2023. Previously, Joe served as an Embedded Software Engineer at TransDigm Group Inc., where responsibilities included full life cycle development of real-time embedded software for military avionics. As Principal Firmware Engineer at Audacy Wireless Lighting Controls by IDEAL, Joe focused on designing sensor and actuator devices for wireless control applications. Joe's background also includes leading software engineering efforts at Ecolab, developing advanced technologies for cooling water systems, and working at Coriant on software for network elements and smart routers. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Penn State University.
