Steve Lucas

Steve has over 30 years' experience in Information Technology. His experience includes managing very large complex data centers, project management, security, compliance, e-commerce, database marketing, social media, email delivery, and privacy. Steve has held senior management positions in Information Technology including Chief Technology Officer, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Privacy Officer positions with several companies including General Motors, Excite, Persona, and Edgewebosting. Steve was one of the world's leading privacy and security consultants and worked with Federal, State, and International governments on privacy and security enhancing technology. Steve participated as an advisor to the FTC in the development of S.877 (CAN SPAM Act) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). He testified many times before Congress on issues ranging from computer security and privacy to the implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) online. Steve received several awards including a Presidential citation for his work as a member of the Department of Commerce Safe Harbor European Union negotiating team. Steve was the Co-Chair of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) Internet Best Security Practices Working Group and is a member of the FBI InfraGard. In 2001 Steve was appointed to the State of Colorado Governors Hi Tech Task Force Privacy Committee. Steve is a member of the SANS INFOSEC Leadership Council and a Constituent member of the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC). He also has served as Vice Chairman of the Board of the United States Internet Industry Association.

Steve is a Certified Business Resilience Professional and Manager and completed Project Management Professional Silver Boot Camp, Computer Information Systems Management (CISM), and Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP) Boot Camp. He also has several Cisco and Microsoft Certifications.
