Tom is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). In his role as President and CEO of Russell Lands, he directs the company’s operations and its diverse portfolio of business ventures. Russell Lands specializes in the development of lake-front neighborhoods on beautiful Lake Martin. Tom is committed to the use of responsible development practices and Russell Lands is focused on preserving the natural resources and public recreation attributes of the Lake Martin community. The company also owns the Willow Point Golf Course, one of the premier golf courses in the U.S. Southeast, and six home improvement stores, which operate in Alabama under the name of Russell Do it Centers. In addition, the company runs three building supply stores and a home décor outlet as well as Russell Marine, which operates four marinas and one of the largest watercraft and off-road vehicle dealerships in the United States. Finally, Russell Lands also actively manages the timber resources on its vast land holdings in Alabama.

A native of Alexander City, Alabama, Tom has been an active and engaged member of his community. Among other endeavors, he has served on the board of The Baptist Foundation; is a Past-President of the Lake Martin Area United Way; and, is Past Director of the Lake Martin Area Economic Development Alliance. In addition to his work with RMS, Tom also currently serves on the boards of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama; Samford University; and, Children’s Harbor, Inc., a non-profit organization that works for the benefit of critically ill children and their families. Tom holds a BS in Accounting from Auburn University and an MBA from the University of Alabama.
