Department Overview
The Solutions department at RFA, composed of the Economic Mobility Catalog and Solutions Accelerator teams, helps government decision makers learn about and replicate solutions that have worked in communities elsewhere.  The Solutions department is responsible for: 1) identifying and highlighting successful implementation efforts of evidence-based solutions by local governments across the country through research, writing, and public goods dissemination, and 2) supporting cities and counties with the implementation of evidence-based solutions through short- and long-term cohort learning opportunities. Working through partnerships and in response to local government needs, the Solutions department aims to accelerate progress on key economic mobility outcomes through the continued growth and evolution of the Economic Mobility Catalog and the suite of solutions replication support models developed by RFA.

Position Overview
The Program Assistant, Solutions will be a dedicated member of RFA’s Solutions department who will play an important role in helping the team meet ambitious annual goals. We are seeking a team member who works well in a collaborative, cross-cutting team environment, proactively seeks out new challenges, and is eager to deepen both their knowledge of mission- and data-driven work and their skills in program logistics and operations.  

Travel up to 10% annually may be required.

This is a full time, exempt position, based in a home office anywhere within the U.S.

Position Reporting Relationship

The Program Assistant, Solutions will report to the Senior Manager, Solutions and work closely with the leadership and staff of both the Economic Mobility Catalog and Solutions Accelerator. 

Position Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Program Assistant are grounded in three core areas: program support and execution; administration; and department operations. Support across these areas will be shared across the full department, inclusive of the Economic Mobility Catalog and Solutions Accelerator program teams and the initiatives for which they share responsibility. In this role, the Program Assistant will be expected primarily to assist in the administrative and operational preparation and execution of cohort learning opportunities called Sprints that are run by the Solutions Accelerator team and are designed to accelerate jurisdictions’ implementation of evidence-based programs that advance economic mobility, assist with the work required to ensure the Economic Mobility Catalog team meets their content goals, and support the ongoing operational and administrative needs of the Solutions department. 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Program Support and Execution (40%)

  • Provide technical and logistical support to presenters and facilitators as they run virtual presentations for both program teams;
  • Monitor the press, social media, and policy sources for issues/articles relevant to the Solutions Accelerator and Catalog teams;
  • Support program teams with preparing presentation materials, slide decks, and participant packets;
  • Support the development of recruitment and outreach materials for new Sprints and other events, including the creation of social media content to promote Solutions department programming;
  • Track and follow-up on open action items related to the delivery of our program teams’ goals in coordination with other team members;

oProofread materials for publication in the Catalog; and

  • As needed and appropriate, assist with research, fact-checking, and drafting tasks associated with the development of new learning opportunities and content for the Catalog

Program Administration (40%)

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to learning opportunities and presentations, including, but not limited to: 
    • Scheduling and setting up Zoom meetings across multiple organizations; 
    • Troubleshooting alongside participants any technical issues that may arise;
    • Tracking participants;
    • Managing timers, polls, and slide and screen sharing; 
    • Managing speaker settings and security settings; and/or
    • Helping to manage location logistics for in-person meetings
  • Support with note taking and documenting action items from internal and external meetings, assisting with follow-up as needed;
  • Support the formatting, review, and distribution of the learning materials such as slides, video recordings, and reading materials; 
  • Manage file folders in Google Drive to ensure proper documentation and easy, appropriate access to program materials for program participants; and
  • Assist with select financial management processes, including tracking stipend payments and reimbursements.

Team Operations (20%)

  • Work with Solutions department staff and leadership to help maintain cross-program project management processes and systems; 
  • Assist with data entry and maintenance, such as contact lists, Asana projects, and Salesforce records;
  • Partner with Senior Manager, Solutions to regularly administer staff surveys and identify insights to share with the full Solutions department team; and
  • Assist with the facilitation and documentation of weekly department meetings, such as updating decks, note-taking and drafting follow-up communications.

Experience, Competencies, and Qualifications 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, as well as an alignment with Results for America’s mission and organizational values.

Experience

  • Up to 3 years of work experience and college degree (or 4-7 years of work experience if no college degree)
  • Experience in organizing and administering in-person and virtual events;
  • Demonstrated track record of strong follow through on tasks;
  • Demonstrated track record of successful project completion and taking initiative to anticipate and solve problems;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once; 
  • Experience driving toward the accomplishment of multiple team goals.

Capabilities

  • The ideal candidate will have:
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet multiple short and long-term deadlines;
    • Strong writing and oral communication skills;
    • Superior attention to detail;
    • Ability to use a range of office software with Google Suite and Zoom a top priority;
    • Significant comfort and skill in seamlessly running Zoom webinars and meetings and operating Zoom to its fullest capacity as needed;
    • Excellent administrative skills in business email communications, note-taking, and calendar management; 
    • Ability to thrive in a virtual work environment; 
    • High degree of flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing environment; 
    • Commitment to Results for America’s mission (with an interest in government and community innovation at the local level preferred; and

Salary and Benefits

Results for America offers a compensation package that includes:   

  • A competitive base salary commensurate with relevant work experience; and
  • A benefits package that includes choice in medical plans; dental/vision coverage; paid time off; a 403b retirement plan with employer contribution.  

The salary range for this position is $51,706 - $70,246.

New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
