Srinivasa Sripathi

Srinivasa Sripathi serves as the Director of the Henderson Ocular Stem Cell Laboratory at the Retina Foundation since June 2022 and holds the position of Adjunct Faculty in Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern since March 2024. Previously, Srinivasa was a Research Associate at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine, from December 2013 to May 2022, where involvement included projects on stem cell biology, retinal differentiation, and drug discovery related to retinal degenerative diseases. Education includes a PhD in Biological Sciences with a focus on Retina Biochemistry/Proteomics from Michigan Technological University, complemented by degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. The research agenda emphasizes the development of stem cell-based therapies for Age-related Macular Degeneration and the mechanistic understanding of retinal cell apoptosis.
