Kenneth H. has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations. Kenneth began their career in 1976 as a Security Specialist in the United States Marine Corps, serving until 1982. Following this, they joined the Atlanta Fire Rescue department and worked as a Battalion Fire Chief for nearly three decades, retiring in 2011. In 2006, Kenneth joined the Georgia Department of Public Safety as an Instructor, a role they held until 2009. From 2013 to 2021, they worked at Texas A&M University TEEX, initially as an Adjunct Instructor/Subject Matter Expert and later as an Agency Instructor II. Most recently, starting in 2021, Kenneth has been involved with Retreat Behavioral Health, first as a Veteran and First Responder Support Specialist and currently as the Support Services Director for the Healing Our Heroes program. Through their various roles, Kenneth has gained expertise in mental health treatment, substance use disorder services, firefighting, public safety, and instruction.
Kenneth H. pursued their education starting from 1983 at Dekalb Community College, where they completed an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Fire Science/Fire-fighting in the year 1986. Following this, they enrolled at Brenau University from 1986 to 1988, studying Public Administration with a focus in Studies in Public Administration. It is not specified when they obtained their certification as an Emergency Medical Technician from the Georgia Department of Human Resources.
