Stacy L Littlechild

Associate Director, Digital Assay Development at Reveal Biosciences

Stacy L Littlechild, PhD has over 10 years of experience in the biosciences field. Stacy has held various positions in research and development, data analysis, and teaching. In 2019, they joined Reveal Biosciences as Associate Director of Digital Assay Development, Image Analysis Manager, and Image Data Analyst. Stacy also began volunteering as a Data Scientist at San Diego Data Science for Non-Profits. From 2017-2019, Littlechild was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where they investigated the role of neurofibromin (NF1) in MAPK signaling and tumorigenesis. Stacy developed a high throughput immunofluorescence microscopy assay to quantify intracellular phosphorylated proteins and generated human and murine cell lines deficient NF1 using shRNA and CRISPR. From 2012-2017, Littlechild was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Cardiff University, where they studied refractive index changes in developing corneal keratocytes to determine their role in onset of corneal transparency and determined the efficacy of newly derived drugs to protect the ocular posterior segment from oxidative stress. Stacy was also a Laboratory Demonstrator at Cardiff University. From 2008-2009, Littlechild was a Research Associate at Kansas State University, where they repurposed existing biologic tissue sealant to adhere corneal wound analogous to that which results from laser eye surgery (LASIK). Stacy also held an Undergraduate Intern position at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory in 2009.

Stacy L Littlechild, PhD obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from Kansas State University in 2011. In 2012, they began their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Vision Science (Extracellular Matrix Biology) at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd and completed it in 2016. In addition, they have obtained certifications from The Leadership Edge in April 2022, from the University of California, San Diego - Rady School of Management in September 2019, and from Coursera in Probability Theory: Foundations for Data Science and Python 3 Programming Specialization.
