Romans Bermans

Romans Bermans has a comprehensive work experience spanning over a decade. Starting in 2009 at Saatchi & Saatchi, they served as the Head of Creative Technology, providing technological strategic direction and collaborating on new business proposals. From 2010 to 2010, at aNobii, Romans led the architecture and design of the platform and core services, overseeing an offshore development team. At Wieden + Kennedy in 2011, they served as a Senior Creative Technologist, leading the creative technology department and mentoring junior team members. In 2012, Romans joined MediaMonks as a Technology & Project Consultant, contributing to new business development and providing solutions to technological challenges. From 2011 to 2015, at BETADELI, they held the role of CTO & Founder, leading the design and development of mobile and web applications for various projects. Romans also has experience as a CTO & Co-Founder at FSHN BOOK from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2017, at LloydsDirect, they were the CTO, overseeing the development and deployment of a prescription management platform. At Whipper from 2016 to 2019, Romans served as an Advisor and later as the CTO. Lastly, since 2019, they have been with Alta Flora, first as the VP of Engineering and currently as an Advisor. In 2020, Romans joined Revelstoke as a Senior Software Architect.

Romans Bermans has a strong educational background in information technology and computer science. From 2008 to 2012, they attended the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Technology. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2008, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science at the same institution.

In addition to their university education, Romans also pursued further certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Romans obtained certifications such as "Fundamentals of Google AI for Web Based Machine Learning" from edX in May 2023, "Python for JavaScript Developers" from LinkedIn in May 2022, and "IBM Cybersecurity Analyst" from Coursera in April 2022. Romans also completed courses in psychology, including "Introduction to Social Psychology" from edX in February 2022 and "Introduction to Psychology" from Coursera in July 2021.

Furthermore, Romans demonstrated proficiency in the English language by obtaining an IELTS Academic score of 8.0 out of 9.0 in October 2014. This certification was obtained through the British Council.

Romans also briefly studied abroad for a semester in 2006 as they were awarded the Socrates-Erasmus Scholarship. At Sheffield Hallam University, they further developed their knowledge in Computer Science.
