Meghan Kallman is an accomplished academic and public servant, currently serving as an Associate Professor at UMass Boston since January 2018, and as a State Senator for the State of Rhode Island since January 2021. Kallman specializes in organizational theory, political, environmental, and development sociology, and qualitative research methods. Additionally, Kallman is a faculty member in the dual-degree Executive MBA program at Brown University. Prior roles include City Council Member for the City of Pawtucket, RI, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Kallman has also had significant experience in education, serving as an instructor at the Community College of Rhode Island, and has held positions in research and communications at various organizations. Kallman holds a PhD in Sociology from Brown University, an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and a BA in Sociology from Smith College.
