Ellen Chapin has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Ellen is currently working as a Solutions Scientist at Rhombus Power Inc. since January 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Speechwriter to GEN(R) Stan McChrystal at McChrystal Group from July 2018.

Ellen also worked at the United States Military Academy at West Point as a Contributing Author and Researcher for the Combating Terrorism Center from May 2017 to December 2019. Ellen also built an intranet for federal prosecutors and U.S. attorneys.

Prior to that, Ellen worked as a Grants Writer and Researcher at Jefferson Public Citizens from January 2013 to August 2014. Ellen also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Virginia from March 2012 to June 2014.

Ellen began their career as a Policy Intern for U.S. Senator Mark Warner in 2011, where they served as a summer intern for two consecutive years under Ms. Ann Rust, State Services Director.

Through these various positions, Ellen Chapin has gained valuable experience in research, writing, policy analysis, and leadership.

Ellen Chapin's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with the highest distinction from the University of Virginia. Ellen studied Political Philosophy, Policy and Law, with a focus on Foreign Affairs in the Middle East, from 2010 to 2014. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master's degree in Global Affairs at Yale University. During their time at Yale, from 2016 to 2018, they focused on Terrorism and Counterterrorism Operations. Currently, they are enrolled in Stanford University, where they are working towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science and Government. Their expected completion date is in 2024.
