Sarah Cowan

Sr. VP Of Product Development And Ops at Rhombus Power

Sarah Cowan has worked in a variety of roles in the energy and technology industries. Sarah began their career in 2006 as a Graduate Research Assistant at UC Santa Barbara, where they observed the charge transport and recombination dynamics in thin film bulk heterojunction (BHJ) blends of strongly absorbing donor materials (polymer, small molecule) and electron accepting (fullerene, small molecule) materials. In 2011, they became a SunShot Fellow at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. In 2017, they joined Rhombus Power as a Member of Technical Staff. In 2020, they were promoted to Vice President of Operations at Rhombus Power Inc., where they lead a team of engineers, scientists, and professionals in operations and product development, including user interface design, strategic intelligence analysis, client services, and human resources. Sarah was also appointed Director of Product Development at Rhombus Power.

Sarah Cowan achieved a Ph.D. in Materials Science from UC Santa Barbara in 2011, and a BS in Physics and English from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 2005.
