Avi Dorfman

VP, R D at Ribbon Communications

Avi Dorfman has a diverse and extensive work experience in various companies. Avi started their career as Chief System Architect at IDF, where they initiated and designed a groundbreaking software project that greatly improved the Air Force systems and received awards for its contribution to Israel's security. From 1999 to 2001, at Orckit, Avi Dorfman served as a System Architect and Project Manager, managing the integration team and leading the development of an advanced ADSL system. As Director R&D at Comverse from 2001 to 2005, they were responsible for the Signaling Server software and played a key role in business strategy and capital raising. At Radvision, where they worked from 2005 to 2011 as VP R&D, Avi Dorfman managed a large R&D group and was involved in business strategy and planning new products. From 2011 to 2013, as VP R&D at Zlango, they worked with the executive management team to define the company's strategy and managed the entire engineering group. Before joining their current employer, Ribbon Communications, in 2019 as VP R&D, Avi Dorfman served as VP R&D at Telco Systems for 5 years, focusing on networking solutions for different markets.

Avi Dorfman pursued their undergraduate education at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology from 1987 to 1992. During this time, they completed two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Physics and another in Electronic Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, they went on to enroll at Tel Aviv University in 1995 and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration in 1998.
