Dorit Columbus

Dorit Columbus has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles.

Dorit began their career in 1989 as a Temporary Sailing Trainer and Skipper's Assistant at Hanseatische Yachtschule Glücksburg des Deutschen Hochseesportverband Hansa e.V., where they stayed until 1995.

From 1987 to 1999, Dorit held the position of Gruppenführerin & Ausbilderin im Strahlenschutz at Freiwillige Feuerwehr Neu-Isenburg.

In 1994, they joined Deutsche Telekom AG as a PhD Student, specializing in research on semiconductor lasers and components. Dorit continued working there until 1999, during which they conducted various tasks such as processing semiconductor samples and performing electron beam lithography.

Nortel was the next company Dorit worked for, starting in 1999. Dorit began as a Network Engineer Optical Transport in April 1999, responsible for designing optical transport networks. After that, they took on the role of Access Network Engineer in January 2000, providing technical product support for access multiplexers and fixed wireless access products. Dorit then transitioned to Cross Product Sales Support from June 2001 to June 2002. From June 2002 to May 2010, they served as a Carrier Sales Support Voice, providing technical sales support for Nortel's Voice and Multimedia portfolio.

In 2010, Dorit joined GENBAND as a Senior Solutions Engineer, where they continued to provide technical sales support across the company's portfolio, including TDM, VoIP, Multimedia, Fixed Mobile Convergence, WebRTC, Cloud Services, and NFV. Dorit stayed with GENBAND until December 2018.

Currently, Dorit works at Ribbon Communications as a Senior Solutions Engineer, a role they have held since October 2017. Dorit'sresponsibilities include providing technical sales support across the company's portfolio.

Dorit Columbus obtained their PhD in Physics from Technische Universität Darmstadt between the years 1987 and 1999.
