Lotte Tholen

Lotte Tholen is an RNA Scientist and Technology Specialist at RIBOPRO since December 2022. Previously, Lotte completed a PhD in molecular biology at Radboudumc, focusing on a rare kidney disease linked to mutations in the transcription factor HNF1β. Research experience includes a role as a research intern at Oregon Health & Science University, where Lotte investigated acute myeloid leukemia and the role of miRNAs in cell communication via extracellular vesicles. Prior internships at Radboudumc involved studying mammalian antiviral immunity pathways and mitochondrial RNA metabolism. Lotte holds a Master of Science in Molecular Mechanisms of Disease and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, both from Radboud University. Early education was completed at Pius-X College in Bladel.
