Wain Smith

Wain Smith is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in software development and systems engineering. Currently enjoying retirement after serving as an Oracle Developer at Life of O'Reilly since November 2016, Wain has also held significant roles at Riceland Foods, Inc. as a Systems Engineer and at Best Buy as Manager IT Technical Lead Services, where responsibilities included leading teams and delivering successful technical solutions. Previous positions include Application Developer III at Alliant TechSystems, Development Team Lead and Senior Software Engineer at Accenture, and Programmer/Analyst at Best Buy Inc. Wain started a career in programming at NORSTAN Communications, Inc. after serving as Personnel Manager at Roadway Express and as a Lieutenant Junior Grade in the United States Navy. Wain holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and completed computer programming coursework at Brown Institute.
