Elie Chachoua has a diverse range of experience in the fields of sustainable finance, thought leadership, and editorial management. In their most recent role as the Director of the Thought Leadership Lab at Richard Attias & Associates, they oversee the development and implementation of innovative thought leadership strategies. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Research Scholar at NYU Stern School of Business.
From 2017 to 2018, Chachoua served as a Sustainable Finance Strategist at the World Benchmarking Alliance, where they traveled extensively to engage stakeholders and align corporate performance with the Sustainable Development Goals. Elie was also a Sustainable Finance Editor at the EU High-level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, contributing to reports that influenced the EU Sustainable Finance Action Plan.
In their role as a Senior Advisor on Sustainable Finance at the Climate Action Network, Chachoua produced a briefing on sustainable finance developments and organized interactive strategy sessions to advance the global sustainable finance agenda.
Chachoua's previous work experience includes managing editor roles at The Economist, where they led a team of analysts in producing content on innovation trends, and lecturing positions at Sciences Po. Policy School of International Affairs, where they taught classes on crisis and risk management and prospective evaluation. Elie also worked as a consultant at the OECD, focusing on green energy, green growth, and scenario planning.
Elie Chachoua completed a Master's degree in Theoretical Physics from Ecole normale supérieure in 2003. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Theoretical Physics at Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2003 to 2006. Continuing their educational journey, Elie Chachoua attended Columbia | SIPA from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a Master's degree in Environmental Policy Studies and Economic and Political Development.
