Cheryl Schlagenhaft has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Cheryl began their career as a Field Archaeologist at Richard Grubb and Associates, Inc. in 2022 and later transitioned to the role of Archaeologist-Crew Chief. At Monmouth University, Cheryl worked as an Archaeologist-Crew Chief, participating in the 2022 Jockey Hollow field school as a field technician and crew chief, guiding undergraduate students in various excavation tasks. Prior to their work in archaeology, Cheryl served as a Program Coordinator and Program Assistant at MedForce from 2018 to 2020. Cheryl'sresponsibilities included coordinating programs and assisting in administrative duties. Cheryl also gained managerial experience as the Manager of Color Me Mine from 2013 to 2018, where they oversaw various aspects of the store, mentored staff, and managed inventory.

Cheryl began their academic journey at Brookdale Community College in 2016, where they obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Social Sciences-History in 2017. Cheryl then transferred to Rutgers University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities, completing their studies in 2019. Currently, they are furthering their education at Monmouth University, working towards a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology and Archaeology, which they expect to complete in 2023.
