Alexandra Korotchenko

Alexandra Korotchenko has a diverse work experience that spans across various organizations and roles. Alexandra began their career at the CanWheel Research Project as a Research Trainee, where they conducted research to enhance the mobility of older adult wheelchair users. Subsequently, they joined the University of British Columbia as a Graduate Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, and Undergraduate Research Assistant, focusing on studies related to body image, identity, and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Alexandra then worked at the South Granville Seniors Centre as a Program and Volunteer Coordinator, responsible for coordinating programs and managing volunteers. Currently, they are employed at the Richmond Public Library, where they hold the role of Head of Newcomer and Volunteer Services and previously served as a Community Programmer.

Alexandra Korotchenko began their education at The University of British Columbia in 2003, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in the School of Human Kinetics. After completing their undergraduate studies in 2007, they continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master's Degree in the School of Kinesiology (formerly Human Kinetics) in 2009. Following their master's degree, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the field of Sociology of Aging, Health, and Illness at The University of British Columbia, which they completed in 2016.
