Matthew Chasen has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as Founder, Chairman, and CEO of LIFT Aircraft since September 2017. Matthew is also a Co-founder, Investor, and Chairman of Hitch, a company focused on reinventing city-to-city travel, since July 2018. Prior to these ventures, Matthew founded and served as CEO of uShip, an online marketplace for shipping, from 2003 to 2016. Matthew has also held positions as a Special Limited Partner at ATX Seed Ventures since May 2014 and as a Venture Capital Intern at Hunt Ventures from 2003 to 2004. In the earlier stages of their career, Matthew worked at The Boeing Company as a Business Development Engineering Analyst and Senior Systems Engineer from 1998 to 2002, and at NASA - Langley Research Center as part of the LARSS Research Program in 1996.
Matthew Chasen's education history includes earning an MBA in Private Equity Finance and Entrepreneurship from the Texas McCombs School of Business from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from The University of Texas at Austin from 1994 to 1998, specializing in the Engineering Honors Program. In 1993 and 1994, they briefly attended the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Liberal Arts with a focus on Pre-Med.
