Michael Freedman-Schnapp is a seasoned leader in financial advisory and asset management, currently serving as Managing Director at Forsyth Street Advisors since 2015. At Forsyth, Michael focuses on affordable housing, clean energy, real estate, and impact investments for non-profits and government agencies, with notable clients including the Ford Foundation and Baltimore Development Corporation. In addition, Michael has played pivotal roles as a Board Member and Founding President of the Board for Riders Alliance, advocating for improved transit in New York City. Michael's academic experience includes teaching at NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and Pratt Institute. Previous roles encompass leadership positions at the New York City Council, where Michael directed policies on participatory budgeting and climate change, as well as strategic advocacy efforts at various civic organizations. Michael holds a Master of Urban Planning from New York University and a BA from the University of Virginia.
