Job description

The IT Specialist will be responsible for the general day-to-day operations of the organization's computer systems, networks, programs, infrastructure, helpdesk support, databases, and other technologies. This is a full-time in-office position at our main office in Troy, NY. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains corporate systems and supports end-users in relation to networks, data entry/control, security protocol, hardware, software, and licensing agreements.
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve IT issues; identifies problem areas and inefficiencies.
  • Manages company cell-phone and internet plans and sources providers
  • Manages all company IT assets including, computers, cell phones, air cards and tablets
  • Sets up computer networks, technology, and user access companywide including construction field offices
  • Participates in the evaluation, development, and recommendation of technology solutions; integrates with existing systems.
  • Develops and maintains SOP’s for all IT related processes and procedures.
  • Manages various training, projects, third party vendors, and consultants
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Requirements

  • Associates degree in Computer Science or related; 5-7 years’ technical experience in lieu of degree

  • Experience and knowledge of a variety of computer programs. Experience with any or all of the following preferred (HCSS HeavyJob; HCSS Heavy Bid; VISTA Viewpoint; Bluebeam; Microsoft 365Systems, HCSS Dispatcher, GoCanvas, Apex/Libra, Primavera P6, CAD, BambooHR, Telematics, Meraki, Veritas, Datto)

  • Knowledge of computer security best practices

  • Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in an environment where priorities are ever changing

  • Demonstrates attention to detail with impeccable organizational skills

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams

  • Strong work ethic and passion for problem-solving

  • Independent judgment required using existing guidelines to determine work methods

  • Strong work ethic, ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
