Provincial Technical Lead: Global Health Security at RIGHT TO CARE

Dr Idon-Nkhenso Sibuyi has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Starting from 2009, they worked as a clinician specializing in optometry at the Limpopo Department of Health until 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they served as an Assistant Director at the National Department of Health, where they focused on the National Core Standards for Health Establishments. In 2013, they joined the Health Information Systems Program - South Africa as a Senior Facilitator, working on the strengthening of health information systems until 2015. From 2015 to 2018, they were employed as a Digital Health Expert at HealthEnabled. In 2019, Dr Sibuyi served as a Technical Advisor for Health Informatics at the International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH). Starting in 2020, they worked as a Senior Technical Advisor for Implementation at the Anova Health Institute until September 2022. Currently, Dr Sibuyi is employed as the Provincial Technical Lead for Global Health Security at Right to Care.

Dr Idon-Nkhenso Sibuyi has an extensive education history, as follows:

From 2017 to 2020, Dr Sibuyi attended Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where they earned a Doctor of Technology (DTech) degree in Informatics. Their special interest within this field was Digital Health Research.

Between 2012 and 2014, Dr Sibuyi pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Medical Informatics at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika.

In 2023 and 2024, Dr Sibuyi is expected to study at Johannesburg Business School (JBS), where they will pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Digital Transformation.
