Jose Antonio Maldonado Guglieri

Jose Antonio Maldonado Guglieri is an experienced melon breeder currently working at RIJK ZWAAN IBERICA SA since October 2012. Prior to this role, Jose served as Plant Breeder II at Monsanto from 2001 to 2012, where responsibilities included leading a Sweet Pepper Breeding program for high-tech markets and developing breeding lines for various sweet pepper types. Additionally, Jose led the EMEA Unheated Protected Pepper Breeding Group. Earlier, as a Breeder Research Associate at Seminis Vegetable Seeds from 1999 to 2001, responsibilities included overseeing a Pole Bean breeding program and evaluating experimental pepper hybrids. Jose holds a degree in Agronomy and Crop Science from Universitat Politècnica de València and completed the European Plant Breeding Academy at the University of California, Davis in 2011.
