Jan Dorscheid

Jan Dorscheid is a seasoned conservator specializing in furniture conservation, currently serving as a Junior Conservator of Furniture at the Rijksmuseum since October 2015. Previous positions include an Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from October 2013 to July 2015, and a Post-Graduate Internship at the J. Paul Getty Museum in the Department of Conservation. Jan's early experience includes internships and projects at various prestigious institutions, such as the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and Wawel Royal Castle, focusing on the conservation and restoration of furniture and wooden artifacts. Jan holds a Diplom degree from the Fachhochschule Potsdam and is a trained cabinetmaker from Tischlerei Abeling in Berlin.
