Allan Thygesen

Allan Thygesen is Google’s President, Americas, responsible for the advertising business in North and South America. Previously, Thygesen led Google Marketing Solutions, the global mid-market and small advertiser business, which serves millions of customers and agencies.

Before joining Google in 2010, Thygesen was a Managing Director and Partner in the US venture and growth funds of the Carlyle Group, where he led investments in e-commerce, mobile advertising, and imaging startups. Earlier, Thygesen served as EVP, Sales and Business Development at Wink Communications, which he helped take public in 1999. Before Wink, he worked in sales, marketing, customer service, and finance management roles at various technology companies in the US and Denmark.

Thygesen received a master’s degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business as an Arjay Miller scholar. He lives in the Bay Area with his wife and four children.
