Skylar Smith

Skylar Smith is an experienced academic and arts manager currently serving as a Professor for the History of Illustration at Ringling College of Art and Design since July 2021, focusing on interdisciplinary courses that foster critical thinking and creative solutions. Additionally, Skylar manages front-of-house operations at Urbanite Theatre and has held various consultancy roles, including developing grant proposals at Not Your Average Joe. Past experience includes curatorial and product management roles at Inveniem, where strategic initiatives in exhibitions and digital outreach were developed, and a fellowship at the Norman Rockwell Museum. Educational achievements include a Master of Arts in Decorative Arts, Design History, and Material Culture from Bard Graduate Center, along with degrees in Liberal Studies and Art History from Dartmouth College and Oklahoma State University.
