David Porras Jr.

David (Dee) Porras Jr. is an experienced coach and educator currently serving as the Passing Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Rio Grande City Consolidated Independent School District since February 2021. Previously, David held the position of Offensive Coordinator at Roma Independent School District since December 2017, and served as Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach at Valley View Early College from July 2015 to January 2018. David also contributed to Veterans Middle School as the Special Teams Coordinator and a 7th Grade History Teacher from August 2009 to August 2015, while simultaneously coaching various teams at Rio Grande City High School. Earlier coaching roles include Head Football Coach at La Grulla Middle School from February 2005 to January 2008. David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, completing studies in 2005.
