Leigh Slomp

Leigh Slomp currently serves as the General Manager of Technical Services for Lithium at Rio Tinto, a position held since March 2025. Prior to this role, Leigh was the General Manager of Technical Services at Arcadium Lithium from November 2023 to March 2025. Extensive experience also includes roles at AusIMM as Chief Advisor for Professional Standards and as the London International Representative from December 2019 to November 2023. Additional positions involved serving as Global Manager of Resources & Exploration at ArcelorMittal and Geology Manager at Atlas Iron Limited, where responsibility included all Geology Functions and acting as the Competent Person for JORC code reporting. Leigh's career began with roles at BHP Billiton, Sons of Gwalia, and others, complemented by a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Applied Geology from Curtin University obtained between 1995 and 1998.
