Chief Projects Officer at Ripple Energy

Simon Peltenburg is the current Chief Projects Officer at Ripple Energy. Simon has over fifteen years of experience in the renewable energy sector, including positions at Scottish Renewables and RES (Renewable Energy Systems Ltd).

At Scottish Renewables, Simon served as an elected Director and Board member. Simon was responsible for promoting renewable energy in Scotland and ensuring that the country realizes the full economic, social, and environmental benefits of renewable energy.

At RES, Simon was Head of Projects for Scotland. Simon managed a portfolio of onshore wind projects, from initial site identification through development, consenting, financial close, construction, and into operation. Simon was also responsible for budgeting, P&L, KPI delivery, and strategy. Simon led their team to energize four projects totaling over 100MW in record time to meet an RO deadline. Simon was also the key account manager for a major customer, which resulted in a significant improvement in the relationship. Simon has excellent communication skills and was able to effectively communicate with external parties, including the Scottish Government, to put RES at the forefront of the industry.

Simon Peltenburg received their Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Bristol. Simon then went on to get their Master of Science in environmental impact assessment from Aberystwyth University. Lastly, they received certification from the Free Electrons Program as a Free Electrons Participant.

Their manager is Sarah Merrick, Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Miklos Parrag - CTO, Will Dodd - CFO.
