Matthew Statham

Matthew Statham is a highly experienced chemist with a significant background in synthetic organic chemistry and the development of medical device coatings. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Ripple Therapeutics since January 2020, Matthew previously held roles as a research scientist and Chemist II. Prior to this, Matthew worked at Interface Biologics Inc from November 2013 to January 2020 as a PhD Chemist, focusing on antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory coatings for local drug delivery devices. Earlier experience includes serving as a PhD Organic Chemist at Newchem Technologies, where Matthew specialized in synthetic organic chemistry and compound purification, and as a chemist at Onyx Scientific Ltd. Matthew earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and holds an MChem (Hons) degree in Chemistry with Industrial experience from The University of Manchester.
