Rene Groothuis

Rene Groothuis has over 20 years of work experience in various roles within the technology and security industry. Rene currently works at Riscure as the International Sales and Business Development Manager. Previously, they held multiple roles at Irdeto, including Segment Manager EcoSystems, Segment Lead Ecosystems, Director Security Services, Security Manager, Program Manager Mobile, Manager System Test, and Senior Smart Card Test Engineer. At Irdeto, they managed teams, worked on partner management, developed security improvement strategies, and implemented secure procedures and policies. Prior to Irdeto, they worked as a Freelance IT Consultant at Moore Plastics and Interpay Netherlands, where they developed web and management information systems. Rene also worked as a Senior Test Engineer and IT Consultant at Collis and Chipper NV, and as a Consultant Test Engineer at KPN Research. Additionally, they served as Chief Automation at Steelcover, where they developed administrative applications and provided network support.

Rene Groothuis has a diverse education history spanning over several years. In 2008, Rene obtained a CISSP Certificate from CIBIT / DNV, specializing in Certified Information Systems Security Professional. The following year, in 2009, Rene underwent training on CISM, which stands for Certified Information Security Manager, at Tshukudu Technology College B.V. (TSTC) in Veenendaal.

In 2013, Rene completed a Management Skills Certificate program at Learning Tree, focusing on management skills. In 2018, Rene pursued further education in the field of information security with a CISSP Refresher course at Global Knowledge Netherlands. That same year, Rene obtained a Certification in Product Management and Product Marketing for technology-based products from Product Focus London.

Continuing professional development, Rene participated in the Grow Teams Leadership Program at TPC Leadership Netherlands in 2021 to enhance their leadership skills. Finally, in 2022, Rene completed a program at Tshukudu Technology College B.V. (TSTC) in Veenendaal and became certified as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
