Katie Goodwin has a diverse work experience in the field of visual effects and film editing. Katie began their career as an Artist in Residence at Tyneside Cinema in 2011, followed by a role as a VFX Editor at Molinare in 2012. Katie also worked at Framestore in 2013 and Prime Focus World in 2014 as a VFX Editor. Katie then became an Artist in Residence at HIAP in 2014, funded by the Australian Council for the Arts and the British Council International Artist Fund. From 2015 to 2017, Katie worked as a Senior VFX Editor and Previs Editor at Framestore, where they contributed to projects such as Guitar Hero Live, Now You See Me: 2nd Act, and various pitch presentations. In 2017, they joined Territory Studio as a VFX Editor for a short time before moving to LIPSYNC POST in 2018 for the same role. Katie then founded their own limited company called The Artifect, where they specialized in visual effects and fine art film editing. Unfortunately, the company had to close due to the pandemic. During their time at The Artifect, Katie worked as a Senior VFX Editor and Director on numerous projects for Post production companies and branding agencies, including Disney Descendants Teaser, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Men in Black International. In 2020, they joined RISE | Visual Effects Studios, initially as a VFX Editor, before being promoted to the role of Head of Editorial Global in October 2021.
Katie Goodwin completed their MA in Fine Art at Wimbledon School of Art (University of the Arts London) from 2010 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a BA in Fine Art & Art History from Goldsmiths, University of London between 1998 and 2001. In 1997 and 1998, they attended Central St Martin's for their art studies.
