Karen Ikegami

Karen Ikegami possesses extensive experience in education, currently serving as Principal at RiseUp Community School in Denver since January 2015, after holding the position of Assistant Principal. RiseUp Community School focuses on supporting students who face challenges in traditional educational environments, emphasizing the development of life skills and community engagement. Prior to this role, Ikegami worked as a Mathematics Instructional Specialist at Eagle Rock School & Professional Development Center from 2008 to 2014, and as a Science Teacher at HIGHLINE SCHOOL DISTRICT- Odyssey School from 2004 to 2008, contributing to the small schools movement. Educational qualifications include a Master in Teaching from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Oregon.
