Joel Burton

Joel Burton is currently the VP of Education at Rithm School. Joel has previously worked as a Frontend Engineer at HomeAdvisor from September 2020 to April 2021, and as a Full Stack Web/Mobile Developer at Creative Artists Agency from February 2020 to August 2020.

At HomeAdvisor, Joel was responsible for architecting a React SPA for the Fashion & Beauty department. Joel tailored the user experience and UI layout, focusing on mobile first design and development principles. Joel also utilized React hooks, Redux thunks, and React Router to extract URL parameters on page load and coordinate proper sequencing of data fetching, state updates, and UI render to reload the app in previous states.

At Creative Artists Agency, Joel integrated React components into legacy Angular applications to allow tracking of client bookings. Joel also implemented unit and integration tests with Jest and React Testing Library to provide code coverage of at least 95%. In addition, they maintained and updated a multitude of applications across both modern frameworks and legacy technologies.

Joel Burton's educational career began with a field in Chemistry at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. Joel then pursued a type in Chemistry at Missouri State University.
