Kirk Hornung has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Kirk began their career in the United States Air Force as an Air Cargo Specialist, where they were stationed in Germany and deployed to Saudi Arabia and Oman for Operation Desert Storm. After leaving the military, Kirk worked as a Commercial Diver for Sub Sea International Inc., performing underwater repair services for the oil and gas industry. Kirk then transitioned to the aviation field, starting as an Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic and later became a Pilot and Inspector Authorization (IA) at RFB Flying Service Inc. During this time, they also flew traffic watch flights and performed maintenance test flights. Kirk later joined Acadian Ambulance as a First Officer, transporting patients and medical equipment. Kirk also held the role of Director of Maintenance, overseeing a team and aircraft maintenance. Kirk further enhanced their aviation career at Executive Jet Management, where they served as a First Officer for Cessna Citation XL. Kirk then joined Kilgore Marine LLC, where they held the positions of Captain and Chief Pilot, responsible for flight operations and overall management of the flight department. Most recently, Kirk joined Ritz Safety as Chief Pilot, where they continue to apply their expertise in flying Cessna Citation XLS. Throughout their career, Kirk has demonstrated strong leadership skills, customer service orientation, and a focus on aircraft maintenance and operational cost savings.

Kirk Hornung completed their education at Delgado Community College, obtaining an Associate of General Studies degree in 2000. Kirk also holds several certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration, including Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic, Airline Transport Pilot: Airplane Multiengine Land, Commercial Privileges: Airplane Single Engine Land, Inspection Authorization, Medical First Class - No Restrictions, and Type Ratings for CE-560XL, CE-525, and CL-65 (SIC).
