Renjan Thomas, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several years.

Renjan currently holds the position of Zonal Lab Manager - South & East at Rivaara Labs, a role they have been in since October 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Regional Lab Manager - South Zone at the same company from April 2021 to October 2022.

Before joining Rivaara Labs, Renjan worked at Healthcare Global Enterprises Limited as the Section Head of the Department of Molecular Pathology. In this role, they conducted research on cancer progression and tumorigenesis, specifically focusing on mutations in genes like EGFR, KRAS, NRAS, and BRAF V600E. Renjan held this position from November 2017 to April 2021.

Renjan's academic and research career also includes positions as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Malaya from April 2015 to April 2016, where they studied the relationship between gut microbiota and psychological disorders. Renjan also worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the same university from January 2014 to February 2015, studying the virulence and pathogenesis of Burkholderia pseudomallei.

Additionally, Renjan was a PhD Scholar at Universiti Putra Malaysia from July 2009 to May 2014. Renjan'sresearch during this time focused on examining the pathogenic determinants of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and evaluating the immune response against this nosocomial pathogen.

Earlier in their career, Renjan worked as a Research Associate at Nicholas Piramal India Ltd from October 2007 to May 2009, where they screened natural products and small molecules for their potential in cancer research. Renjan also served as a Research Assistant at Tata Memorial Centre from February 2007 to October 2007, conducting biological and preclinical experiments related to cancer research and drug development.

Renjan Thomas, PhD, completed their education in the field of Medical Microbiology. Renjan pursued their Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Bharathiar University. Following this, they attained their Master's degree in Biomedical Genetics from Vellore Institute of Technology. Later, they undertook a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Universiti Putra Malaysia, specializing in Medical Microbiology.
