Alison Paglin has over 30 years of work experience in the medical field. Alison started their career at Loyola University Medical Center in 1986, where they worked as a Technical Specialist in the Laboratory for over 20 years. In 2008, they joined Riverside Medical Center as a Technical Operations Supervisor in the Laboratory department. Alison was later promoted to the role of Manager of the Laboratory in 2014. In addition to their hospital work, Alison also worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Kankakee Community College starting in 2006.

Alison first attended Kankakee Community College from 1982 to 1984, where they earned an Associate of Science (AS) degree. Alison then pursued further education at the University of Illinois Chicago from 1990 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science/Research and Allied Professions.
