Michael Kirsh

Managing Director at Riverside Management Group

Michael joined RMG in June of 2016. He began his career practicing law in New York City after receiving his J.D. degree from St. Louis University in 1992. Mike then discovered a passion for the securities industry. He initiated his career in the distressed debt department at Merrill Lynch, when Merrill was one of the first “big banks” to enter this niche industry. In the latter part of the 1990’s, Mike joined Morgan Stanley and pioneered their distressed debt business, eventually growing the department to over 200 people. The department later became known as Global Leveraged Credit. In 2009, Mike became the Managing Director of High Yield and Commodities Trading at a boutique investment bank also in New York City. In 2013, Mike returned to Morgan Stanley to trade commodity futures and derivatives. In 2015, Mike became the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of a credit opportunity fund. He was tasked with due diligence, providing legal documentation and raising funds, among other responsibilities. He currently holds the series 7 and 63 securities licenses.
