Georgios Sarakakis

Georgios Sarakakis is the VP of Reliability at Rivian. Georgios has previous experience working as a Senior Manager at Apple and as a Manager at Waymo.

Georgios has always been focused on ensuring reliability and quality in the products they work on. At Apple, they were in charge of iPhone and Core Technologies reliability operations. Georgios set up a new organization within quality operations with the mission to ensure reliability at scale, allow rapid detection and action on issues and drive down warranty cost by better understanding the customer experience. Georgios and their team were successful in reducing warranty costs and increasing customer satisfaction.

At Waymo, Georgios led hardware reliability for the Google/Waymo self driving car. Georgios was responsible for leading a team of Hardware Reliability Engineers to design in, test and validate reliability for new products. Georgios also created and directed the Failure Mode - Effects Analysis program for the company. Under Georgios's leadership, the company saw order of magnitude improvements in reliability performance to support scaling of a driverless fleet service.

Georgios is known for their continuous improvement focus and their ability to teach best practices to others. Georgios taught a top rated reliability engineering class to all of Alphabet to spread best practices across all organizations. Georgios is an expert in their field and is always looking for ways to improve the products they work on.

Georgios Sarakakis has a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, a Master of Science in Project Management from The George Washington University School of Business, and a Master of Science in Reliability Engineering from the University of Arizona. Georgios also has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and certifications from the Project Management Institute in Project Management Professional, SGS-TÜV Saar in Automotive Functional Safety Professional, ASQ in Certified Reliability Engineer, ReliaSoft Corporation in Certified Reliability Professional, and ASQ in Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
