Brian Ernsting

VP, Academic Affairs at Rivier University

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Brian Ernsting serves as the University’s principal academic officer, providing leadership to faculty and oversight of more than 70 academic degree programs. As a member of the senior leadership team, along with dedicated faculty and academic staff, he advances Rivier’s strategic growth through the development of innovative academic programming and initiatives with an unyielding focus on student success. Prior to joining the University, he served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.

Dr. Ernsting’s research has been published in national and international science journals, and he is active in new faculty mentorship and professional development programs. He earned his Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan.
