John Bolte serves as the Director of the Centre of Expertise in Digital Operations and Finance at De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences since May 2020 and has been a Professor (lector) in Smart Sensor Systems at the same institution since September 2016. Bolte's research focuses on mobile and smart autonomous sensor networks and systems. Additionally, since 2002, Bolte has worked as a Scientific Project Manager at RIVM, coordinating projects on wearable sensors. Past roles include Trainer in Debating for the educational centre of D66, General Secretary for the pilot Knowledge Platform Wind Energy, and a board member of the Bioelectromagnetics Society. Bolte's educational background includes a PhD in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology and a post-initial master's in Epidemiology from VU University Amsterdam, among other qualifications.
