Menno de Jong is an accomplished expert in clinical virology and infectious disease control, currently serving as the Director of the Centre for Infectious Disease Control at RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment since May 2024. De Jong has been a Professor of Clinical Virology at the University of Amsterdam since 2007 and has held various leadership positions in medical microbiology, including Chair of the Department of Medical Microbiology & Infection Prevention at both Amsterdam UMC and Vrije Universiteit Medisch Centrum.
