Lito Villanueva is the EVP & Chief Innovation & Inclusion Officer at Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. Lito was previously with the Yuchengco Group of Companies and Voyager Innovations, Inc. as the Managing Director & CEO of FINTQnologies Corp.

Lito has been instrumental in starting PLDT Group’s FinTech business and making it the country’s biggest and with the most extensive digital footprint covering all 81 provinces in the Philippines. Lito quickly scaled the Philippines’ first digital lending platform Lendr with loans disbursed in excess of US$670 million in less than four years realizing 57% CAGR, and digitally enabling more than 100 bank and non-bank financial institutions.

Lito has championed inclusive socio-economic digital transformation with measurable positive outcomes, e.g., reduced interest rates to as low as 0.75% monthly from 30% for farmers and fishers, faster turnaround time to just seconds from as long as two weeks, and all digital customer experience from the usual paper-based processing, among others. Lito has institutionalized KasamaKA, the Philippines’ first grassroots-based, bottom-up and multi-sectoral financial inclusion accelerator initiative anchored on the government’s National Strategy for Financial Inclusion with a three-pronged objective by end of 2020: bring 20 million Filipinos to the formal financial system, leapfrog digital financial transaction to 20% from current 3%, and reduce unbanked LGUs by 15% from 34%.
