Baktash Jami has worked in a variety of roles since 2014. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Project Management Specialist/Program Manager at USAID, where they managed a supply chain and financial management portfolio of $65 million. In 2017, they were Team Leader/Project Manager at Local Governance Project in Afghanistan LoGo/AHEAD, where they introduced and trained government officials in modern financial and revenue systems. In 2018, they were a Strategic Planning Consultant at Counterpart International and a Consultant at the Ministry of the Interior, Austria. In 2019, they were an Entrepreneur (Import and Export) at www.bjami.at, an Expert Speaker at the Austrian and Afghanistan Society, and a Team Leader (University Project) at the University of Applied Sciences, Wiener Neustadt. In 2021, they were a Sales and Supply Support Manager and a Sales and Supply Support Specialist at IKEA. Currently, they are the Director of Analytics and Process Improvement at RK Logistics Group.

Baktash Jami holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Humanities from Balkh University, obtained between 1996 and 2000. Baktash also holds a Master of Public Management from the University of the Philippines, obtained between 2012 and 2015. Additionally, they hold a Master of Business Administration - MBA in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Leadership from Modul University Vienna, obtained between 2018 and 2020, as well as a Master of Business Consultancy International in Finance: Treasury and Investment from Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt, obtained between 2018 and 2020.

Jami has also obtained several certifications, including an Accountant certification from BFI Wien in 2021, an Ethical Decision Making certification from CFA Institute in 2020, a Contracting and Agreement Officer's Representative (FAC-COR) certification from USAID in 2014, and a Prince 2 Foundation certification from APM Group.
