Shiz Kobara

VP of Partnerships at RKS Design

Shiz Kobara has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of user experience, industrial design, and business development. Starting in 1981, Shiz worked as an Industrial Design Program Manager and later as a Global Design Director at Hewlett-Packard, where they managed the industrial design and user experience for various products. Shiz was also involved in developing new design style languages that are still in use today.

In 2007, Shiz worked as an XD Group Manager at Intuit before joining LUNAR in 2011 as a Director for Technology Business Development. At LUNAR, Shiz focused on expanding the company's user experience design capabilities.

From 2014 to 2017, Shiz served as an Advisor for Design, UI, and Manufacturing Strategy at Savioke. They then joined Cosmo in 2017 as the Director of Business Development.

In 2018, Shiz became the Director of Client Relations at Delve, a creative consultancy firm. They were responsible for developing new business opportunities and visually articulating the benefits of the company's services. Shiz's role at Delve continued until 2023 when they transitioned to the position of VP of Partnerships at RKS Design.

In addition to their professional roles, Shiz also had teaching experience as an MFA Faculty Instructor for User Experience and Industrial Design at the Academy of Art University starting in 2009. Overall, Shiz Kobara's work experience demonstrates a strong background in design, business development, and client relations.

Shiz Kobara began their education at San Jose State University in 1977, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design. Shiz successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 1981. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the certification in "Mastering Sales: A Toolkit for Success" from Kellogg Executive Education in December 2022.
