Darja Pecko is an experienced research engineer at RLS Merilna tehnika d. o. o. since September 2019 and a senior postdoctoral researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel since March 2016. At Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Darja specializes in topics including numerical modeling of atmospheric corrosion, corrosion of steel rebar in concrete, and hydrogen embrittlement in metals, while also managing projects, supervising PhD students, and linking experimental work with numerical modeling for enhanced scientific developments. Darja completed a Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from Jozef Stefan International Postgraduate School, where the doctoral research focused on the electrochemical study and synthesis of ferromagnetic nanowires.
