The Payroll Coordinator, reporting to the Payroll Manager, is a key member of the Accounting team. Responsible for supporting the Payroll Manager, this role involves accurately processing payroll, managing tax registrations and notices and assisting with ad hoc payroll projects. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in processing a semi-monthly and biweekly payroll schedule. Process and review payroll changes (new hire, terminations, status, deductions and compensation changes)
  • Coordinate and review timekeeping information for non-exempt employees with team managers
  • Assist in 401(k) contributions remittance process
  • Assist in multi-state payroll state and local tax ID registrations
  • Handle timely deposits of state/local taxes; prepare monthly, quarterly and annual filings; monitoring of tax rate changes and tax payment frequencies in each tax jurisdiction
  • Review a high volume of tax notices and process resolution; experience with reaching out to federal/state/local agencies
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Troubleshoot employee related payroll questions and communicate payroll policies to employees
  • Prepare ad-hoc payroll related reports, and support various payroll, 401(k) and financial statement audit requests

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred
  • 1 to 2 years experience as a payroll coordinator
  • Experience working with payroll systems/service providers such as Workday, ADP and Zenefits is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other departments while maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast paced environment
