Benjamin Schmidt

Benjamin Schmidt is the Co-Founder and CEO of RoadBotics. Previously, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at kWantera from January 2013 to December 2016 and was responsible for the overall product direction and product development, including management of the engineering, data science, and machine learning teams.

Under Benjamin's leadership, kWantera successfully deployed a number of products and technologies, in addition to supporting the company's fundraising needs. Prior to their role as Chief Technology Officer, Benjamin worked as a Data Scientist at kWantera where they were responsible for predicting price and supply/demand patterns of electricity commodities in PJM. Benjamin developed trading strategies to capitalize on patterns that included statistical arbitrage and hedging.

Before joining kWantera, Benjamin was a PhD Student Researcher at the University of Pittsburgh from January 2008 to December 2013.

Benjamin Schmidt received a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Benjamin then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
